PFA plastic is a copolymer of a small amount of perfluoropropyl perfluoroethylene ether and polytetrafluoroethylene. Also known as soluble polytetrafluoroethylene. The results show that the viscosity of the solution decreases with the increase of melt adhesion, but the properties of the solution have no change compared with that of polytetrafluoroethylene. This kind of resin can be directly processed into products by ordinary thermoplastic molding method. It is suitable for making corrosion-resistant parts, wear-resistant parts, seals, insulation parts and medical equipment parts, high-temperature wire and cable insulation layer, anti-corrosion equipment, sealing materials, pump valve bushing, and chemical containers.

Long term use temperature – 196 — 260 degrees, has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, corrosion resistance to all chemicals, the lowest friction coefficient in plastics, and good electrical properties, its electrical insulation is not affected by temperature, known as the “king of plastics.”. Its chemical resistance is similar to that of polytetrafluoroethylene and better than that of vinylidene fluoride. Its creep resistance and compressive strength are better than that of polytetrafluoroethylene, the tensile strength is high, and the elongation can reach 100-300%. It has good dielectric property and excellent radiation resistance. The flame retardancy is up to v0. It is suitable for making corrosion-resistant parts, wear-resistant parts, sealing parts, insulating parts and medical equipment parts. High temperature wire and cable insulation, anticorrosion equipment, sealing materials, pump valve bushing, and chemical container.

2. Molding properties 1. Crystalline material, less moisture absorption. It can be processed into products by the usual processing method of thermoplastic. 2. Poor fluidity, easy to decompose and produce corrosive gas during decomposition. The molding temperature should be strictly controlled not to exceed 475 ℃, the mold should be heated to 150-200 ℃, and the resistance of gating system to material flow should be small. 3. Translucent granular materials, injection molding, extrusion molding. Molding temperature 350-400 degrees, 475 degrees above easy to cause color change or bubble. And pay attention to the difficulty of demoulding. 4. Due to the corrosive effect of molten material on metal, the mould needs chromium plating treatment for long-term production.

3. PFA resin is relatively new fluoroplastics which can be melted and processed. The melting point of PFA is about 580 F and the density is 2.13-2.16g/cc (g / cm3). PFA is similar to PTFE and FEP, but its mechanical properties are slightly better than that of FEP at 302t and can be used at temperatures up to 500F. Its chemical resistance is equivalent to that of PTFE. PFA products are granular products for molding and extrusion, powder products for rotary molding and coating, and semi-finished products are films, plates, rods and pipes. The PFA resins distributed in the US market include Teflon brand of dupout company, neoflon brand of Daikin company, hthen brand of ansimont company and hostafl brand of Hoechst Celanese company. The use of PFA is similar to that of FEP.
